About our Church

The First Congregational Church of Buena Park, California offers a wide variety of services and facilities for youth, families, singles and seniors. We are a family-friendly church with a heart-felt welcome waiting for you.

Ours is an historic church that was founded in 1888. Our lovely building and grounds are attractively landscaped with rose garden, lawn, trees, and shrubs. The sanctuary is warm and inviting, tranquil and inspiring.

Large stained glass windows invite thoughts and prayers to our Lord and Savior. The large stained glass window in the balcony of the sanctuary, pictures Jesus praying in the garden. This intimate area with its sun-splashed pews is a favorite spot for personal prayer and devotion. Our new brides and grooms enjoy having their pictures taken here.

Our Sunday morning services are high energy, positive experiences that focus on God's great gift of salvation, forgiveness and love through Jesus and the Holy Spirit. We experience God's presence, His healing and His will for our lives as we come together in praise, prayer and fellowship.

Other ministries for our family-friendly church include:

  • A fellowship time with refreshments following worship, adult-staffed child care during most church events.

  • Child care for most church events, dynamic Christian Education program for every age group infant through senior citizens.

  • Families: All configurations of families are welcome.

  • Connections: A babysitting co-op for church members; connecting families with similar interests and needs. We offer special events, retreats and camps for families and hold classes for parents and care givers.

  • Christian education program at 10:15 a.m. on Sundays. (During the worship service, which begins at 10 a.m., child care is available for children under six years of age.)

  • Youth program featuring high energy events, study, outings, fun and strong leadership.

  • Evening support groups for families and individuals

  • We promise you a rose garden - a beautiful, large (approx. 100 x 200 feet) rose garden on the north side of the church that includes benches for meditating and a large fountain with the sound of water gently splashing over the rocks. The garden features a variety of attractive bushes, ground cover, trees, floral displays, patio covers and lanterns to light the evening.
